Systemic Sclerosis

Calcinosis: cutaneous nodules of the fingers.

Patients with sistemic sclerosis, particularly those with limited scleroderma, are liable to develop intracutaneous calcification. These deposits occur chiefly in the digital pads, periarticular tissues along the extensor surfaces of the forearms, in the olecranon bursae, and in the prepatellar area.
