Differential diagnosis

Acute seborrheic dermatitis mimicking SLE malar rash.


Clinical Background:

A 37 year old patient with seborrheic dermatitis: intense erythema and fine-yellow scaling on the forehead, nose, malar area and scalp. Good response to topical ketoconazole, a weak corticosteroid cream and subsequent sun-exposure.
